What if Starbucks Marketed Like a Church? A Parable.

I found this hilarious video on YouTube the other day. It poses the question “What if Starbucks Marketed Like a Church?” I thought it was hilarious and yet very thought-provoking. It gets to the heart of why you need a personal real relationship with God. You may never look at church the same way again.

Do you see anything wrong here?

  1. I saw this video a while back and I think it is hilarious but it is also sad because it reflects a lot of truth.

You are correct. The authors made reference to showing how alienate visitors by using church speak and other issues. Put together, it makes for some very uncomfortable moments. Thanks for sharing.

I wrote a blog post with this video as the central topic a while back (http://creeksidebiblechurch.org/churchschicken3/). I really believe that if our hearts are on loving people and seeing them know the Living God then they will recognize us as genuine. If our hearts are simply on filling seats…people will recognize that too.

Thanks for your comments Chad. I agree that we need to be absolutely genuine.
